光光位 (Very Free Space)Living LIFE to the least extreme... 02 maggio Late CongratsLast week, I had the pleasure of being a "Brother for A Day" again. This time round it is not as hec-tick.

P.S Thanks for the free cookies, goes well with free red wine. Freshman Guide to Bra RemovalSomeone emailed me this joke, thought I share:
OBJECTIVE
To disengage said bra without looking like an idiot. WHAT YOU NEED TECHNIQUES DO NOT USE: scissors, blowtorch, pliers, wire strippers, cutlery, Black Magic, staple remover, chainsaw, brute strength, CB4, set of lock picks, or chisel and hammer. WARNING: When removing a bra you should not say the following: 14 febbraio How to Fold A Paper FlowerIt's Valentines Day. Too Late to Buy Flowers? Feeling a bit Cheap-stake? There are tons of youtube videos on "How to fold a rose".
How to: origami rose (EASIER diamond method)
Or you can always use the tissue paper, even more cheapstake method. H
13 febbraio Brother for a DayLate congrats to my friends Alan and Joy, whom I had the pleasure of being one of the "brothers". Tiring day.
Things I had learnt:
1) Weddings are stressful. Fun, but stressful.
2) "Brothers" and "Sisters" don't eat until 11am. The Bride and Groom don't get to eat until 2pm.
3) Make sure you know the Bride's favourite song in 4 languages, English, Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese, by hard.
4) When you are supposed to be the "Drinking Brother", don't eat too much.
5) It's good to have a mole among the "Sisters".
6) "Brothers" only get proper rest after the wedding dinner.
7) All Grooms will go to a trance-like state on the day of the wedding. We call it "STEAM".
06 gennaio My Very First AnimationAn old school project I did in 1999, it was the 1st animation I ever did. Stupid Steven's Cat .
Why Stupid Steven? At that time, a member of the group bailed on us the next day after giving us his idea. Guess what is his name. 03 gennaio Life in Little Big PlanetHere's a documentary about the PS3 game, Little Big Planet.

01 gennaio Happy New Year 200931 dicembre Christmas Activities
20th December 2008. Christmas Party #1. My friend Kelvin invited a couple of old friends over to her girlfriend’s place to celebrate an early Christmas. YY had something on, Ah Jie was not free, so it was just me. We ate burnt turkey and drank sake with Kelvin’s other friends. We even played Guitar Hero, though I am not really good at it, but Kelvin, your friend rocks. According to Kelvin’s girlfriend’s sister’s boyfriend, the Playstation 3 is an inferno machine; it connects to the Internet automatically and downloads updates, even when you are not online, that is, your computer is off. Overall I had a good time, a little too much to drink, but a good time.
24th December 2008. Preparations for Christmas Day. This whole day was heck-tick. Early morning I had to accompany my mother to do some grocery shopping; she buy, I wait outside. After that I had to change the sofa cushion, change the bed sheets, mop the floor, and set up the Christmas tree. At night I wrapped the presents. This is the Christmas tree with some of the presents wrapped. This is the Supergirl action figure my mum bought for the kids, cost her $15. This is the shirt my mum bought for me, which I found out before Christmas, and I had to wrapped it and open it the next day. Ironic isn't it. And this is the Christmas tree with all the presents wrapped.
25th December 2008. The Big Day: Christmas Party #2. If you thought Christmas Eve was busy, Christmas Day was worse. I helped my mum with her Christmas cooking, 4 hours straight. We had chili prawns, fried fishballs, fried beehoon, curry, lobster and soup. We were so busy, I didn’t even had time to take photos, but I did take one. “Smile Cousins.” While the little kids had fun with their toys, we had our lunch. The little girl that got the Supergirl was unhappy as she wanted her brother’s toys more, even though it cost about $6 bucks. The little brother’s gift was a 6 action-figures power ranger pack. I guess at a young age, kids learn that cheap and more is good, typical Singaporean. My Sister-in-law says that kids are like that, when the little brother gets all the attention, the big sister is always unhappy.
Christmas Party #3. After a quick lunch, I headed over my friend Kelvin’s place for his 2nd Christmas Party, this time most of the Aljunied Kakis were there. Like always we had a quick snack, exchange presents and played Magic the Gathering, yeah we are geeks. Kelvin is a Transformer toy collector, and thus his room is filled with Transformer toys, and great food, and magic cards, and videos of Top Gear episodes. When I reached home, with all the guest gone, and all the chores done by my brother and sister-in-law. It was actually the best time of Christmas. The family bonded a bit by opening presents, and had leftovers for dinner. Though tired, but it was a pretty fun day. And let the present raping begin.
26th December 2008. Aftermath of Christmas. We went to Raffles Place to change some presents cos they don’t fit. My mother shoes didn’t fit and my trousers had no proper pockets, so we had to change. But the aftermath of Christmas was the Year-end Sale. Crowded stores, long queue at Robinsons, just to exchange a pair of trousers, it gave my brother some time to do some year-end shopping of his own.
Christmas Party #4: My father’s friend, Aunty Judy, invited us over her place for late Christmas dinner. This time I took more photos I did on the previous parties. Mum:”Why are you taking photos now, you should have taken more photos yesterday.” Me:”Yesterday I very busy ma.” “Smile, DD Sisters.” “Smile, Dad and Uncle KL.” “Smile, T.”
27th December 2008. Late Congratulations to Neighbours. Two weeks ago my neighbour got married, and on the 27th , another neighbour got married, so we had some more catering food for Christmas. Just wanted to congratulate the neighbours, and thanks for the food.
Outing with Old Colleagues. I met up with some old colleagues to watch Ip Man. We went to the arcade to play Winning Eleven, yeah Winning Eleven, with a Playstation controller, in the arcade. We had dinner at Just Noodles, free flow ice-cream and free flow drinks. Dinner was nice, until JW showed me a bowl of Yam ice-cream in a bowl of rice. One good thing about watching in Cathay, we got to watch in the extra big theatre, the theatre in the middle. One bad thing about watching in such a big theatre, is the big crowds after the show had ended. 27 dicembre My Late Christmas GiftThis is my gift to all of you, an old school project I did in 2001, enjoy.
Escape Theme Park 2001 (Singapore) .
It's low in quality, cos I only made a low res version.
24 dicembre A Christmas with something to share.Don't worry, the thing I want to share isn't Christian.
Right now you guys should be busy counting down to Christmas, or preparing for the Christmas Party for the next day. If not...
WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?
Christmas is a time of sharing and a great time to be with friends (not business clients) and family.
A few months back, I watched a documentary about a little girl by name of Juliana Wetmore, who was born with a very rare genetic disease called Treacher Collins syndrome which affects the development of bones and other tissues in the face.
The signs and symptoms of the disorder vary greatly, ranging from minor to severe. Most people who have the disease have underdeveloped facial bones and a very small jaw line, according to the National Institutes of Health. In Juliana’s case, she was born missing more than half the bones in her face. Doctors say she's the most extreme case on record in the world, the Web site reported. It's a heart warming story about this "Girl without a Face", the operations she had gone through to reconstruct her face, while it may not look like much, but it is better than what I saw on TV. The pains and struggles the family faced when seeing her in such pain. To read more: http://www.julianawetmore.net/story.php .
Hope the story of this family warm your hearts this Christmas, I have to go back to preparing for Christmas now. Will post pictures of the Christmas parties soon. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! 23 dicembre Odiogo - 2nd TryOkay Odiogo doesn't read Chinese Characters, and its reading ability in Pinying sux. I also discovered that a proper sentence with a Full-stop , Commer, Question Mark, Exclamation Mark, is the only way to break the sentence. Otherwise Odiogo just detects it as a full sentence, and reads without breaking.
Just for Fun, I am going to repost a previous Blog entry to "hear" how my lame jokes sound like as a podcast:

September 03
If your child is in the Olympics, WOULD YOU BE PROUD?
Food for thought: if your son or daughter is very much into sports, WOULD YOU BE PROUD?
It’s one of those questions people ask; during the weeks of Olympics and when the Table Tennis team won the Silver medal. Heck, there was even a survey on the “My Paper” a few days back, about Sports, kids and their boring parents. So my friends and I came out with a few reasons / scenarios about why is it so hard to get an Olympic medal in Singapore. . .
Reason 1: Most parents are unsupportive when it comes to Sports, but most parents are very supportive when it comes to Music. . .
Scenario Example. : Son: Papa, I want to play football, because I want to play World Cup. I can earn lots of money, and I can forget all about my studies. Father: Very good, very good. (To the wife.) Dear, where’s the cane?
Scenario Example (based on real life events.): Father: (To the daughter.) Girl girl, your piano skills are getting better, very good. (To the son.) Aiyah Boy ah, tell you how many times, don’t play the basketball in the house, you want to kana scolding is it?
Reason 2: Parents don’t pay much attention to their children.
Scenario Example (based on real life events.): Son: Papa, I want to play Ping Pong and enter the Olympics. Father: Ah Boy ah, don’t block the TV, Papa trying to watch.
Scenario Example (all at the same time.): Son (To Father.): Papa, I want to enter the Olympics. Mother (To Father.): Dear, when do you want to go IKEA to buy new furniture? Grandmother: Son, I need money for my medical bill. Father: Aiyah you all driving me crazy!
Reason 3: Parents are very protective about their children. They might even fight with each other to protect their child.
Scenario Example (based on real life events.): Mother (dragging the child along.): Coach, I want my son off your Rugby team. Coach: But why Madam, your son is exceptionally good as a runner. Mother: Because, everyday he comes home with his shirt torn and dirty, and he has bruises all over his body. When I asked him what happened, he told me that he is always bullied by the bigger boys in the Rugby team.
Scenario Example. : Angry Parent: Referee, why did give my son a red card? Teacher Referee: Sir, your son tackled the attacking player from the back. Angry Parent: Why cannot is it? Teacher Referee: Of course cannot lah. Angry Parent: What’s your name ah Teacher, I am going to complain you to the teaching committee. Teacher Referee: Relax lah, I have a hard enough time convincing the parent of the crying attacking player not to sue me and continue playing. The Father is a MP.
Reason 4: Sports is not a very profitable career.
Scenario Example: Kenny Ong (fictional) is an accomplished home-grown badminton player. Once he had even defeated a world number 7th seed player. He trained long and hard for 4 years, earning a miserable $1800 a month, and just a week before the Olympics, his father said to him; “Son, it’s time for you to take over my multi-million-dollar company.”
Reason 5: Due to unforeseen circumstances, some athletes were unable to attend this year’s Olympics.
Scenario Example. : Jaclyn Teo (fictional) is an accomplished home-grown swimmer. She was one of the hot favorites in getting a medal at the Olympics. Just a few days before the Olympics, she was feeling feverish and was given a day off practice to see the doctor. The next day she called her coach over the phone.
Jaclyn: Coach, I am sorry. I can’t compete in this year’s Olympics, I am ill. Coach: We still have 2 days before the Olympics, why don’t you rest and you might get well just in time to compete. Jaclyn: No coach, I am afraid I will be ill throughout the next two weeks. Coach: What? But Why? Jaclyn: I have the Chicken Pox.
Scenario Example. : (Remember the Gymnastics Twins that won SEA games gold, here’s a friend’s reason for their absence in this year’s Olympics, fictional of course.) Twin 1: Coach, my sister and I can’t compete in this year’s Olympics. Coach: Why? Twin 2: I… I am pregnant. Coach: Oh… but what about your sister, (To the other twin.) Why can’t you compete in this year’s Olympics as well? Twin 1: You see Coach, I am also pregnant, because we are twin sisters, we always do the same thing together.
Reason 6: Most kids change their interests very quickly.
Scenario Example. : Son: Papa, I want to join the Ping Pong Club. Father: Okay Son.
(1 Week Later.) Son: Papa, I want to play soccer. Father: What about the Ping Pong Club? Son: Everyday tock tock tock, very boring, I want to join the football team. Father: Okay Son.
(2 Weeks Later.) Father: Ah Boy, I thought you have soccer practice? Son: Haiyah, everyday train, train, train, run here run there, very tired. I want to play with my Friend Mark’s dog. Papa, can I have a dog?
Reason 7: Probably the most recent reason of all. We blame the coaches when the players were unable to achieve anything in the Olympics, but when the players do deliver a medal, we threaten to sack them.
Scenario Example. : Secretary of TT Team: So Coach Loo, you managed to get a medal from the Olympics, very good, very good. Okay please sign here. Okay and here, and here. Here is your prize money and letter of termination. Next!
